In our house we look after a large number of vegetative state patients and residents who are dependent on tube feeding. They partly had no taste experience for months. Since we have been using the AirSet for taste stimulation, this has become possible again. It is just wonderful when we are smiled at gratefully.
In summer 2019 we changed our thickener to VISCO from biozoon. We have already saved a few hundred euros and are expecting four-figure savings for the new year, 2020.
Since we are using the new VISCOclear, our residents with chewing and swallowing disorders drink properly again. VISCO clear is an incredible gain in quality of life for our residents, because it leaves the beverages unchanged in taste and appearance and is so economical. Our residents can drink their beloved tea again – thanks to VISCO it remains unchanged in appearance and taste.
By switching to the smoothfood nutritional concept in 2013, our residents with chewing and swallowing disorders residents receive special appreciation. They get almost the same food as their healthy table neighbors – sometimes enriched. As a result, we have almost no malnutrition to complain about among these residents. This in turn is reflected in the length of stay of the residents and means a high image gain for us.
